Accomodation - which of these?!

Hi, me and my girlfriend will be embarking on a round the world trip after we complete our university courses.

we plan to spend 4 days in bangkok before heading on to phuket, australia, hawaii, usa, canada, and mexico.

any way were on a budget and after a place which is clean and safe but also near the main attraction.

ive narrowed it down and just wanted opinions on which is the best hotel suited for us. this will be the first destination after flying from the UK.

so heres what ive come up with

cozy bangkok place hostel

and soi 1 guesthouse.

location is key to the usual tourist attractions etc and being close to the skytrain etc would be good too

so any advice?
