Monsoon season

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if September is monsoon time?. If it is,is it best to go late September?.

Samui suffers the effects of the North East monsoon from mid-October into January.The amount of rain the monsoon winds bring varies year on year.Last year was relatively dry compared to 2007.September should be ok.

Please note that other parts of Thailand are at the mercy of the South West monsoon which ends around October/November.

I agree, if you visit in september Koh Samui, Koh Tao, Koh Phangan and the Gulf side beaches are by far the best for weather, that is why that area is popular between May and september.
