Doha stopover from BKK

Hi. Just flown back from BKK with Qatar Airways through Doha. We had a 5 hour stopover and fancied a beer!!! We decided to pay for a Visa, which is so easy. Instead off going through Transit, go straight to the Immigration/Passport Control desks and ask for a Tourist Visa. No problem. It costs around 100 Rial (拢20). You get out off the airport and you can get a beer. The nearest hotel is the Marriott. 5 minute drive. Our Taxi cost 70 Rial (拢14), but im sure you can get a cheaper one. The only restaurant/bar that was open. Was the Salsa Restaurant. The staff were very helpfully and friendly.

It was more interesting than waiting at the airport.

Worth the money!! :)

Beer was expensive. Between 拢7 and 拢9. But worth it while on holiday!

I make that 拢59, counting the visa and taxi back and forth. Hope it was a VERY good beer. ;-)

Oh yes! Worth every penny. You only love once. :)
