has anyone traveled from heathrow to bangkok with thai airways recently my daughter wants to know are there tv%26#39;s on the backs of the seats thanks
thai airways
currently they are running 2 flights daily from lhr-bkk, one of these planes is a 747-443 which does not have seatback tvs, just large screens in the cabin. The other plane is a 340-600 which does have seatback tvs and AVOD. This is subject to change of course
thai airways
Hi I travelled with them in August 2008 on flight TG911 a 747. They do not have a tv in the seat back. The service has always been very good when I have flown with them but I do find the journey very long with only a big screen to watch and no choice of what movies are shown. You have to choose your seat carefully or you don%26#39;t get a good view of the screen. I think it%26#39;s about time thai changed this as so many airlines have far superior on board entertainment these days.

This link is saying they have changed over to airbus
which have tv%26#39;s in the seats.
All TG911 flights last week and this week have been airbus.
So fingers crossed as the 747 fleet is looking a dated.
Hi
We too were faced with a choice of flying with Thai airlines but because they don%26#39;t have personal tv%26#39;s we swithed, we are now flying out with Malasian Airlines who do have personal tv%26#39;s flying from Heathrow via Kwala Lumpa.
Fifi, I have been with malaysian twice now and they are really good, sometimes the drinks service is a bit slow and leaves you asking for water all the time but everything else is top notch.
If its just you and a partner travelling you should book seats at the back of the plane, there are 2 lots of 2 seats on either side. Good seats with lots of room and no one beside you.
Happy travels.
I am flying Eva when I go in 2 weeks time.
Flew Thai last year but the old 747s were dreadful - very uncomfortable and noisy in economy with the aformentioned lack of screens.
So for similar money can go Premium Econ on Eva - no contest!
The lunchtime flight to Bangkok/overnight return is the a340 with seat back tv%26#39;s. The evening flight from Heathrow/lunchtime return from Bangkok still, at the moment, utilises 747-400 without seatback tv. So if you havent booked yet choose the lunchtime flight if seatback tv is a priority.
I have booked to fly from Heathrow 17th April lunchtime and it states plane is 747-400
