Hi, I am considering starting my honeymoon in Phuket. I%26#39;d like something very upscale sine its our honeymoon (was disappointed there is no Four Seasons, am considering the JW Marriott) and really uniquely beautiful and relaxing. Want a place we can just take in the view while lounging and having drinks brought to us :) I am wondering if Phuket fits the bill. I%26#39;ve read alot about it being ';touristy'; and am now hesitant. Can someone tell me their thoughts?
For the second half of the trip I am considering the Four Seasons Golden Triangle and then a few nights in Bangkok.
Phuket Honeymoon?
I should have mentioned, we are looking at going the 3rd week in October...
Phuket Honeymoon?
The three best are Banyan Tree, Amanouri and Trisara
Have a look at Sala Phuket, the new Anantara, Amanpuri if you can afford it.
October honestly is not the best month for islands or beaches. You may be lucky with weather but it is the month seasons change and in all honesty you could get bad weather whether you visit the Phuket, Khao Lak, krabi, Phi Phi area or the Gulf side, Koh Samui, Koh Tao etc.
I would do some nights in Bangkok first and then Four Seasons Golden Triangle, excellent choice, perhaps a couple of nights around Chiang Mai ?
Have a thought on the beach side. It is a tough call to say where you would have the best chance of fine weather as it can change from year to year.
If there is a month of the year when you can have bad weather on beaches and islands it is October.
If the chance of bad weather is not too much of a concern that is fine.
Hi,
Have you considered the Hilton in Karon Beach? It%26#39;s really excellent! Karon is also a lot quieter than Patong, and in October it should be fabulous (albeit a bit rainy).
Regards, Michelle
Look, it can be the ideal honeymoon spot you describe by staying at a nice resort and not heading into Patong. Personally, if romance is your raison d%26#39;etre, I%26#39;d consider elsewhere. Koh Samui ?
After experiencing 3, 4 and 5 star hotel service in Australia, Singapore, even Bali, I find the staff and service and hotel condition are not up to scratch in Phuket. They are a little... apathetic ? Lazy ? Or just untrained ? Maybe I%26#39;m being too harsh, but I don%26#39;t think they%26#39;ve quite grasped the concept of what a 5 star (or 4 star or 3 star) hotel standard should be. Having said that, I haven%26#39;t recently stayed 5 star in Phuket, so I could have it all wrong.
Doesn%26#39;t bother me, these days I holiday purely on the best bang for my buck, and Phuket ticks that box. My (first) honeymoon ? I%26#39;d want it to be guaranteed perfect (and it was, at Dusit Laguna, 20 years ago. Very different island then).
If you do decide to go, check out the the Laguna area. Compared to the JW Marriott, not so far from Patong or Phuket town if you decide to drop in for nightlife or shopping (still well out). Check out private villa%26#39;s attached to resorts, where you stay at your villa but can use the resort facilities.

or same thing discounted on Ebay for under $200 USD per night
鈥bay.com/鈥?/a>
Other ideas are the better rooms at Mom Tri Villa%26#39;s or the diamond villa at Diamond Cliff, or other various plunge pool rooms. Often the secret to a good stay in Phuket is going for the better rooms.
I second Mom Tris Villa Royale. This establishment is in a stunning location with beautiful garden setting away from the crowds. Very romantic!

Another good spot for you to consider is Indigo Pearl at Nai Yang Beach north side of the island in Phuket, near national park and gorgeous beach - quiet, romantic - Not too touristy, and the resort is spread out over a large area, also has an over 16%26#39;s pool with swim up wet bar...Unique and amazing...
I go with ( Mum;s Tri ) i%26#39;ve choosed it for my Honeymoon and i should be going in a month by God%26#39;s Will , Will give you a good feedback once i am back ;)
Regards ,
Somebody mentioned this already but if you%26#39;re looking for really upscale then you should look into vacation rentals (as opposed to strictly hotel settings). You get private villas, 5-star standard hotel services, privacy, exclusivity and real quality. Most have a private pool which doesn%26#39;t hurt either!
Just came across this while searching for rentals for a friend: rentals-phuket.com/rentals/propertyforrent_9鈥?/a> - they%26#39;ve got a honeymoon package available too - but not sure if it still valid for when you%26#39;re planning your trip.
Others include Phuket Pavilions, the Banyan Tree Phuket, Trisara, Sri Panwa - all high-end and exude class.
