Family Holiday in August

Hi there! Can anyone help me some advice on where to stay. First of all we have never been to Thailand so I went on the main forum, which then advised me to come onto the forum for Koh Samui as the weather is meant to be better here in August. It will be our first family holiday outside of Europe lol! So obviously want to try and get it right as possible. We have two children 12 %26amp; 9. They like great pools, swimming, making friends, enjoy to eat out. We like to sunbathe, great food, nice hotels mainly 4 star, can%26#39;t always afford five star. The kind of hotel we would look for would have good food, good facilities for the kids although doesn%26#39;t have to be some crazy whistle blowing kids club, like I say they are quite happy swimming all day with may be some fun slides and a little entertainment in the evening.

I look for places that either have some sort of bungalow style or interconnecting room. Our recent holidays have had to be all in as its sooo expensive in Europe in August. So I have missed going out in the evening and exploring other nice restaurants. We like to chill out on our holidays but by the second week can get a bit boring so would be nice to be somewhere where there would be a few nice places to go see. I must get a guide book!!

Anyway sorry for waffling does anybody have some good hotel recommendations??

Thanks Faye

Family Holiday in August

Hi Faye,we went to samui last year and had a fantstic time. The best area to stay is chwang beach, lots of good hotels and beach side huts. We stayed in seascape apartments a bit basic but very good facilities, and the food was excelent. You can stay at more upmarket hotels but why as you will spend most of your time on the beach. There are hundreds of good restaurants which most are really good value, the most we spent for a night out was 拢90 for 5 adults eats and drink and lots of it, the cheapest night we had was 拢30 not so much to drink that night. Any way it was that good we are returning again this year in august. Hope I have been of some help.

Enjoy
