flying jetstar

Travelling on jetstar flight in April. Are meals worth purchasing about $30 per person or are you able to take light snacks with you. is there any problem hiring a video pack on board. Thanks for the advice.

If you enjoy having a hot meal on board then yes it is worth the money, think it is two meals actually. Yes you can take snacks on board never had a problem doing this. You may not be able to hire a video console on board. It depends how many have been pre-booked. Hope that helps.

Cheers

The second meal is a meat pie. I kid you not !

Its a 9 hour filght, eat at the airport snack on the way then have a light meal at the hotel before you go to bed.

Trust me

Hi, we are also travelling jetstar in 12 days (not counting honest) and I have pre purchased the meals as it also includes unlimited soft drink which I thought would be worth it.

When you pre purchase your meals it also includes all the non alcoholic drinks you want which I found worthwhile. Also they do seem to run out of dvd players so I would advise pre booking.Saves a few dollars as well :)

Have a great holiday

Can someone tell me what sort of snacks you%26#39;re allowed to take on board. Is it still the case you cant taske liquids eg bottled water on board. PARDON MY IGNORANCE.

The meals are not worth it. You can get free water, and even though they say they charge for tea and coffee, they did not ask for any money when we ordered. You can buy food onboard, but they run out of most food in 15 minutes, literally. Plenty of noodles in a cup, which were surprisingly good.

Can%26#39;t take drinks on board, 100ml bottles only.

We took home made ham and cheese rolls, packets of chips, muesli bars, chocolates, lollies, nuts, apples, sultanas etc etc etc. Take whatever you want and take heaps. What we didn%26#39;t eat we left on the plane so no hassles through customs.

There were only 2 or 3 spare DVD players on board on our flight, if that, so if you want one, collar the hostie as you sit down.

Travelled Jetstar to Vietnam last year and purchased the video pack, but they also showed 1 movie and a travel video about Vietnam on the overhead screens. I only liked one movie in the video pack and wasn%26#39;t interesrted in the TV shows or video games on it so would not hire it again. The food was average for the money, but soft drinks and coffee were good. If you are travelling with companion, order 1 video pack and 1 meals and share the drinks. Also take some snacks.

Hi,

we booked meals for us but not the kids. Can take anything on board that does not need to be heated.

If you book a meal you get hot drinks as well as softdrinks and we just shared these with kids.

Otherwise you are up for about $3 a drink.

Prehired videos which kept the boredom down. Need to provide ID when you receive it which they return when they collect them.

My kids have coeliac disease and therefore can%26#39;t eat any of the food offered on these flights (but can on Qantas). We always take our own food and have never been asked to justify why this is. Take whatever you want on board - I%26#39;m sure it won%26#39;t be a problem.

Four of us travelled Jetstar to Thailand last year and found the food as good as other airlines- we were even given a cheese platter from Business Class, the plane was full and the staff were so nice maybe we were lucky
