Muay Thai in Bangkok

I will be in Bangkok in late April... Can anyone recommend a good venue to take in a night of fights?

Thanks!

Muay Thai in Bangkok

Lumpini Boxing Stadium in Rama 4 Road, but watch out for steep ticket prices, or the Rachadamnoen Stadium on Rattanakosin.

Muay Thai in Bangkok

Been to Muay Thai at Lumphini Stadium a couple of times and it was a good laugh.

You will be able to get tickets just by turning up at the stadium, but you will be coerced to buy the $30 ringside seats. You can either just walk up to the kiosks to buy them, but more than likely as soons as you walk near the stadium someone will come out and grab you!!!!!!!

On my second visit I was aware of the dual pricing at Lumphini and the fact they try and steer tourists to the even dearer VIP front run seats, so I plucked for mixing it with the locals and didnt pay the top whack. Was just as good as ringside.

Both occasions were Saturday nights (they also hold fights on Tues %26amp; Fri)and there must have been ten bouts working through the weights with a good standard of boxing.

Got there about 9:00 and missed the first two bouts but then must have stayed for two hours plus to watch the rest.

It was just as fun watching the spectators bet (even though I%26#39;m sure it%26#39;s ilegal in Thailand!!) and really get carried away.

Definitley recommend it.

As for getting there, closest MRT is Lumphini. Signposted from exit there (200 yds).

Otherwise take a cab.

That%26#39;s good info on the pricing/seating, appreciate it!

I look forward to some good fights and a great trip!
