Discuss tips for Songkran here for taking part in or avoiding party water-fights.
I did ask a rather relevant question before but the thread has vanished for some reason before I could check an answer. The question was this:
Is the proposed ban on alcohol going ahead or is it still just an idea at the minute? Are the Thai government likely to put forward legislation at this late stage?

Explain further Revolver.
Ban on alcohol? Do you have a link to this? Is it regarding drinking on the street during the festival or something?

Hasn%26#39;t been any update on the article on the website just wondering whether anyone actually in Phuket/ Thailand had heard any fresh news on the concept.
A ban on booze during songkran is never gonna happen.
I hope it does not as I am planning on having a holiday.
Holiday to me is having a nice lunch with a glass of wine or beer and in the evening relaxing with some beers or happy hour and having 2 or 3 late nights out of 7.
I would feel really hard done by any government if they decided to ban alcohol because their citizens cannot handle booze. It would put me off ever returning.
Not that I can see this ever happening in this economic climate. Flogging a dead horse springs to mind.
I think Songkran without booze is like a swimming pool without water, it isn,t going to happen, anyway the Thai,s would make there own booze.
