Hi all,
I%26#39;ll be visiting Pattaya in April, it will only be me and another female, we are both 26.
I have been warned of robberies etc.
Please can anyone tell me the places I should stay away from? we will be experiencing the nightlife, but we want to do this in safety and know where it is safe to be and not. is it wise to travel around by cab at night? or pre book a taxi with the hotel?
We will of course we vigilant and be on our guard, but any tips would be appreciated :)
thanks all
possible dangers in Pattaya??
Taking the same precautions you would at home should keep you out of trouble.
Most problems people get into are alcohol fuelled so dont get legless drunk and go stumbling around the beach at night and do not get into drinking sessions with the local males.
You will fine around the walking street area and using the baht bus to get around but I would avoid the motorbike taxis at night.

I could never figure out which one goes where, but one of the locals on this forum should be able to help
Apart from avoiding those late night, long walks on the beach, any populated area in the city will be quite safe. As mentioned above use your common sense, don%26#39;t allow yourself to overindulge, and don%26#39;t trust strangers that approach you (western or Thai), period!
Hi Carry,
ReplyDeletePattaya is quite safe as long as you take the usual precautions, the one big menace to watch out for, especially for women carrying hand bags is motorcycle riding snatchers. This happened to my wife and countless other people I know.
