If you book and pay for your hotel in full, how can you be charged more if rates go up later on? Is this the normal terms and conditions to expect from third party internet sites?
I chose a couple of sites (phuket.com and sawadee) that offered good rates for stay....pay..... deals (low season), however, after going over the terms and conditions, they state that if the hotel increases their rates, these would be passed on. You of course have the option of pulling out (with cancellation fee of course). Makes me feel a bit uneasy....
Can anyone recommend sites they have used before that do not have this policy?
Question on Internet Booking of Hotels
Hi Nutmeg
We made a booking with Sawadee when the Oz dollar was much stronger last year and still owe the same amount in Thai Baht, but now with the current exchange rate it will cost more in Oz dollars. We used Sawadee last trip in 2007 and never had to pay anymore than the original amount quoted at booking.

Question on Internet Booking of Hotels
This subject was brought up in an earlier forum a month or so back, but as I personally only book on the accommodation sites at the max%26#39; a week in advance so hence this has never happened to me.Again, from a personal point of view I wouldn%26#39;t bother to book any thing now if you are going in the low season,as you will still have the pick of the hotels then as we found out last July.On the other hand what happens if you book and pay now and the Thai baht is devalued by 30% in the coming months...don%26#39;t some how think you%26#39;ll get a rebate.
