bangkok /pattaya

So many questions. First ';one size does not fit all!';

For a hotel recommendation mention how much you want to spend per night. This will make it easier to recommend a particular place.

In Bangkok choose a hotel on Sukhumvit Road or the Siam area so that you can take advantage of the Skytrain service. If you are female and want to keep away from most of the bars there are places that are more bar free.

Reserve or not, if your bags are light and you arrive during the daytime and you don%26#39;t mind walking a bit then you will probably be able to find a place in the Khao San Road area (young people) or Sukhumvit Road (adults) near Soi 11/1 (Nana Skytrain area.) Once you find a hotel you can ask them to reserve a room for your on your return to Bangkok. Swiss Park, Ambassador Hotel, Business Inn (old hotel is cheapest,) President Inn and others in this area. Depends on your budget!

For Pattaya, you can take the Skytrain to the Ekamai bus station, take the VIP bus to Pattaya. Price will be around 120 baht depending on price of fuel for that day.

In Pattaya you should be able to find a room during this ';low'; season off Pattaya 2nd Road. Google up a map of Pattaya. Soi Honey Inn and has several hotels on one street. Bay Breeze Hotel, Intown Holiday, Sawasdee Mansion, Honey Inn Hotel and a few other places often have vacancies during this time of year, unless there is a rock concert going on or something like that.

What recommendations you get depend on your budget.

Good luck.

thanks for your reply..my apology for tno being specifc on my question.....i know bangkok well.. s i hv been there before.. i am more concern on Pattaya.. do i need to book hotel first.. or as you mentioned.. i can book when i arrived at bangkok.. i planned to stay at bangkok for 2 nights then procceed to pattaya for another 2 nights.. then back to bangkok..

which hotel location i should look for in pattaya....i saw website of south pattaya, north pattaya and central pattaya.. as first time visit pattaya.. which location is better.. anyway I am a male.. so easy for me to travel and bar or happening places in ok.. near beaches as well ..

how long the travel time form bangkok to pattaya as per your suggestion of taking those buses ??

thank you

The VIP bus from Ekamai (off the Skytrain stop) will take from 2 to 3 hours, usually just slightly over 2 hours. You have to take a baht bus to the beach area, think it is 20 baht. Or you can take a motorcycle taxi for 40 - 60 baht.

My advice is to stay some where in the middle between N. Pattaya and S. Pattaya. This way you can easily walk or take the cheap baht bus anywhere you want to go.

Marriott Hotel Pattaya is in a good location. Attached to the Royal Garden Mall. Easy walk to Walking Street, restaurants, bars and lots of street vendors.

If the price for the Marriott is too high Google up a map of Pattaya. Find Soi Honey Inn and start at the Pattaya 2nd Road end and check out the hotels on that road. You will usually find a place in one of those big hotels. Price range from around 400 baht to 850 baht for an air conditioned room with private toilet/bath.

Here is a link to one hotel on Soi Honey Inn, there are many other hotels on this Soi. (hotelthailand.com/pattaya/honeyinn/map.html)

Also, I find that the hotels ';walk in the door'; low season price is sometimes cheaper than what you see on the web.

Good luck.
