Weather

Hi there

Can anyone advise me please on the weather in Thailand during August. We are considering going there for our family holiday. Not sure what part to go to and where the weather is best?

If anyone can help me that would be great, I%26#39;m a sunshine fanatic!!!

If yuo are after a %26#39;holiday islabd%26#39; with beaches and plenty of activity then in August the best weather for such would be Koh Samui.

You can also from there visit nearby Koh Phangan for quieter beaches and Koh tao for excellent snorkling and scuba.

Koh Samui will give you the beachfront troopical style resorts, bungalow / cottage and resort style plus restaurants etc for evenings.

There are others but if you are aiming for family holiday time then koh Samui weatherwise fits.

Note that August is very busy season on Koh samui for these reasons.

If you are after quieter beaches/islands or inland locations just ask.

Hi again Monica

I%26#39;m posting questions and replys for you all over the place. Sorry I%26#39;m a bit new to this.

Ok I%26#39;m going to check out Koh Samui. Any hotel recommendations. I just sent a reply to you about the type of thing we like.

Thanks for you help so far.

I mwould browse the Samui forum, Elina and others are local experts, once if you feel it is the right place for you then think budget and then post on that forum.

Time of year, whether you want cottage and tropical style or more hotel style, whether the children are young and you need a place with kid%26#39;s club etc of whether older and you want to be walking idtance to busy places, in fact the more descriptive you are the easier it is, there are simply hundreds of places to stay.

Do get a guide book if even from a local library and you can start to get a feel for what holiday activities are available.

From what I have read here it does though appear that from Europe the number 1 thing to sort is your long haul flight bookings.

You will also get tips on those too from many others who are a great source of where the best flight deals are.
