after some research, ive decided to stay at kata beach for 5nights and have shortlisted 2 hotels for the panoramic views.

1) Boomerang Village Cottage

- like the thai design of the room, seaview and the terrace and of coz many great reviews

- read that the beds are uncomfortable

2) Sugar Palm Grand Hillside

- very cheap compared to 1st option (abt 30% cheaper)

- if i stay 5 nights, i might be able to get free phi phi island day tour

i just cant decide between these 2..i might end up staying 3 nights and 2 nights in each hotel.

if u know some idea about these hotels, pls share your views with me. thanks in advance !!

Location of Sugar Palm is much nicer, Boomerang is about 15-20 minutes walk from the beach, Sugar Palm 5 minutes if you walk slowly.

Also Boomerang caters mainly to Italians.

Also considering price, my choice would easily be Sugar Palm.

Don%26#39;t pay too much attention to reviews, IMO more often than not they are doctored.

Mindy - note Grand Hillside is different from Sugar Palm resort, the Sugar palm resort has amazing deals low season and verr near the beach, Hillside location might not suite you

i have realised that sugar palm and grand hillside is different. i have also noticed that sugar palm have incredible low prices during april - may (low peak seasons), but is the hotel good?

thats why im going for the grand hillside rather than sugar palm because im really after the panoramic view, nice terrace and preferably seaview and of course comfortable beds !

Yes, Sugar Palm is good.

In my previous post I was talking about Sugar Palm Grand Hillside BTW, which is the same distance to the beach as Sugar Palm. I was just to lazy to complete write out Sugar Palm Grand Hillside.
