I always research my resorts by size and number of pools.Was very happy with both Bandara Resort and Centara Grand Beach Resort.Both have multipal pools of good size and both back on to a good beach.Centara having the better beach and if you are young handy to the night life .Bandara is more for romantic couples wanting to get away from it all but within easy walking distance of Fishermans Village for good dining.

Samui Paradise does NOT have the best swimming pool, if size is your concern - It is small, crisp %26amp; lovely, but only size compared with the 30 or so bungalows.

It is a fabulous place to stay, but that is because the beach there is so amazing - we took a quick dip once or twice in the pool, but stayed around the beach most of the time.

There are some nice large swimming pools to the north of Chaweng, which probably have a more social atmosphere - Amari Pool looked lovely, as did the Iyara. Also Nora Beach resort seemed quite nice, but was a long walk down from reception.

My choices

Sixth sense - Nice big pool with an awesome view looking straight ahead to Koh Phanghan. A little dear place to stay even though.

Bandara - Is good too they also have a pool on the beach.

Napasai - Nice big pool with a nice view facing towards Koh Phanghan and The Marine national park. A nice big garden and spacious area. Disadvantage - Early morning long tail boats that go out are a bit noisey for a little time.

Muang samui have a nice pool in garden with waterfall and jacuuzi. low clorinelevel also. nice sunbeds, but not so many. was not a problem thow. each pair of sunbeds have a huge parasol, table and ashtary.

chaweng regent have two pools. one at the beach and one in the garden.the one in the garden have a lovely sip n%26#39;dip bar. the clorinelevel in this pool is to high for me thow, makes my skin itch..

Also the pool at centara have a quit high clorinelevel, but is very nice, also with a sip n%26#39;dip bar.
