Depends where you stay, if you are going to Patong then it won%26#39;t be as busy as high season but it won%26#39;t be quiet either ! In many ways somewhat less crowds in fact make live a lot easier !

You will be fine, just not so crowded but still busy which you will find a lot better.
There are excellent cheap hotel deals in May so accommodation you can save a lot going in the low season.
