Hi there,

I%26#39;m planning a trip to Ko Chang and was wondering if anyone knew of any hotels or villas that aren%26#39;t on the beach?? We were washed away in the tsunami in Khao Lak and although we%26#39;ve been back many times since we%26#39;ve never been to Ko Chang.

We can%26#39;t bring ourselves to have beach accomodation yet so any tips about resorts that are on higher ground would be really helpful

There isnt much that%26#39;s away from the beach or well above sea level. Have a look at Top Resort on White Sand Beach - it%26#39;s on top of a cliff at the southern end of the beach, mid price place. For somewhere more upmarket the new Nisa Cabana Resort is the top of a much taller cliff at the south of Koh Chang - between Bailan and Bangbao. Great views bit not handy for walking to the beach.

If you want to be inland - Thai Garden Hill Resort is around 400 - 500 metres walk to the beach, above sea level, but not on particularly high ground.

Actually the nisa cabana was top of the clif but they have a very nice pool on the clif you can relax and enjoy your self along side the pool there are have the fushion food as well if you lke to go to the beach they said that they have a van to bring you to the nearly beach at the bangbao I got that twice for free doesn%26#39;t have any cost try that you will love it

Island lodge in White Sands and Kerdmanee just next to Garden Hill. There are chances that it gets a bit noisy from the nearby entertainment complex.

However, there are no chances for a tsunami in the Gulf of Thailand.
