I am staying at the Holiday Inn. Is there a way to get to/from Ton Sai other than boat? Are there tuk-tuks that make the road journey? Am wondering if I can stay in Ton Sai for awhile during the evening and then head back to the Holiday Inn after dark.

There are no roads on Phi Phi. There is a path that you can walk between H.I. and Tonsai Bay but it is pretty tough going in parts and certainly not advised after dark.
Longtail is the way to go and yes, you can get one back to H.I. after dark.
