Layana Resort tips

Hi,

My wife and I will be staying at the Layana Resort for 4 nights in early April. I was wondering whether it is worth asking for any particular room or are all rooms the same? We will be staying in a Garden Pavilion.

Any other tips for staying at the Layana would be most welcome.

Hi there,

All the rooms are good but I would suggest the 1st floor garden rooms have more privacy.

Layana is fab, we returned in February and loved it even more than last time. If you have a chance to eat in Saladan (main town) try Saladan seafood and pick your fish or The Frog - new wine cellar and restaurant.

Have you tried any of their excursions? We are thinking of doing the the trip to the Phi Phi Islands with Layana. Would it be better to go with some local operator on Koh Lanta or with Layana?

Also are there any other recommended excursions while staying here?

We were there in Feb %26#39;09 and went on the Phi Phi snorkel trip. It was wonderful. The staff from Layana were excellent, accommadating, and helpful. The lunch was great with plenty of water, beer, and wine. I can%26#39;t recommend it enough. We also went on the Kok Roh trip. Enjoy your stay!

Thanks for the reply. Would the Phi Phi trip still be suitable if we do not want to snorkel?

Yes, if you enjoy boating and seeing the islands. Some on our group just went in swimming and a few stayed on the boat.
