Kanchaburi to Suvamabhumi Airport

Can anybody help with advice? We need to be at BKK airport at 1600 hours (for a 17.10 flight to Chang Mai. What%26#39;s the safest, most reliable and quickest option from Kanchanburi to airport? We are thinking coach, but don%26#39;t know where the coach depot is in relation to the airport and therefore how much time to allow to get from bus terminal to airport. I wait in anticipation.

Kanchaburi to Suvamabhumi Airport

Well the fastest, most reliable option woukd be a taxi at about 1500 baht.

If you%26#39;re travelling fairly light, for something like 120 baht, you can get a van to either Victory Monument or Ratchadamnoen Road (near Democracy Monument/Khao San Road). From Victory Monument you can change to another van to the airport at a cost of 70 baht (30 minutes). That%26#39;s a painless way to get from K%26#39;buri to the airport for under 200 baht.

If you have more luggage, you can take an air conditioned bus which will have a luggage bay. Buses depart frequently for Bangkok%26#39;s Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Taling Chan) which has been moved way out in the sticks in northern Thonburi District. Cost is about 100 baht. From there, you can get a taxi to the airport. The metered fare plus tolls should come to around 400 baht, and the taxi should use the new Outer Ring Highway and reach the airport in 45 minutes or less. Don%26#39;t negotiate with the taxi drivers. Tell the driver your destination before you get in and insist on the meter. If he says ';no';, there are plenty of other taxis.

If you have more time and want to save money, take bus number 556 for 34 baht. It runs between the bus terminal and Suvarnabhumi. I don%26#39;t know how long it takes to make the run, but count on at least one hour.
