ko lanta

HI. i am planning a diving trip 4 days/nights in Ko Lanta. So many resorts it%26#39;s hard to know where to stay. landing in Phuket but having problems trying to establish the ferry times, reliability and if it is not too much trouble geting from Phuket to Lanta and back. Any advice on ferries and reasonable bungalows appreciated.

ko lanta

There are a bunch of ferries that leave Rasada Pier Phuket town each morning at 8:30am and go from Phuket to Lanta. They are several boats from different companies there and waiting and we didn%26#39;t reserve anything in advance, just showed up at the pier around 8am! I think there are some that may be faster, for some reason the one I took was 3 hours to Phi Phi, (I believe all the ferries to Lanta stop at Phi Phi first) and then the next ferry to Lanta was faster - took about 2 hours. You have to change boats to go on to Lanta (but you buy the ticket from one company at Rasada Pier) I think ferries leave in the afternoon also around 1pm from Rasada Pier in Phuket to Lanta. Now this is the high season so it depends on when you are going, I%26#39;ve heard the ferry service is reduced during the low season. In the opposite direction, from Lanta to Phi Phi, I believe there are 2 options for times as well.

Koh Lanta is accessable by ferry (via Phi Phi) twice a day most of the year. Ther Phi Phi - Lanta service stops between May and November due to sea state.

Alternatively you can go by road and car ferry.

We have some pics, maps and stories of our trip to Lanta here www.bobandjanette.com which may help.

Happy %26amp; safe travels
