TukTuk / Taxi ( Kata --> Patong )

I wonder how much a taxi / Tuktuk will take from my hotel in Kata Beach till Patong Beach ,

As i feel like i would go @ night for shopping / Eating !

For Tuk Tuks it should only be around 150 Baht but i have heard of them charging as much as 400 Baht.

Others may know or have done this recently its just that the Tuk Tuk Mafia seem to have the prices fixed now knowing that the new tourists will pay if they don%26#39;t know any better.

hi there - it%26#39;s been a few years since i have done it - but i generally found it to be about 200-250bht.

It was 300bht to Kata Noi. The trip back will probably be more expensive as the Patong tuk tuks seem to have a cartel going.

Standard price for a tuktuk is 400 baht.

Even from Karon Stadium on the beach road to Patong it costs 400 baht one way. Also from the Karon Stadium to Kata opposite The Boathouse the costs have been increased from 150 to 200 baht this season!

These guys will not even negotiate!

I just wonder how many trips they manage to do a day for that price, but I guess they must do well out of it.

i Guess Thats Expensive for 1 way !! , i will pay 800 Baht like that for a just Having Dinner !

I am sorry to say Wookie that there is no way of negotiating with the tuk tuk drivers. They are adamant with their prices - even though this season with business being down - they all stand together.

So what would say Karon Circle down to Mom Tri%26#39;s Kata cost now, as an example ?

Stevenl has the best answer, 400 B to Patong. They charge more at night, be aware of this.

If you are comfortable driving in Asia, rent a scooter for 200 B a day, drive anywhere you want. Kata is only 15 minutes from Patong.
