Are there any Bars/Pubs close to any of the skytrain stops, that are not girlie bars/pickup joints, where you can go and have a drink without being hassled for ';business';.

Girlie bars are a tiny minority of the total number of bars available to you. You%26#39;ll find thousands of them around the city, including in Silom, Sathorn, Sukhumvit, Asoke, Thonglor, Sarasin, etc etc.

It is not unusual to see ordinary tourist couples at ';beer bars'; where there are bar girls just sitting and having a drink.
No bar with ';bar girls'; in it will force you to do anything. If asking you what do you want to drink is hassling then you gotta have a real thin skin to be affected!
Lots of bars with just men in it, talking to other men, looking at the TV and drinking away. Kind of boring.
No problem finding bars without any women in them, just be careful of some of the places near Pat Pong.

One of the best beer bars in Bkk is a %26#39;girlie bar%26#39; but a great place to watch the world go by - the Golden Beer Bar at Nana.
If you get hassled just ignore the girls, or do what I do and tell them that your girlfriend is shopping -(whether you have one or not)...works everytime lol.
one thing you do have to get used to ,
there are working girls almost everywhere,
Some are freelancers, not employed by anyone, but are looking for work,
Ive found if you point to a ring on wedding finger and say married, they seem to respect that, smile and leave you alone.
Ive never found them a hassle.
