BanKrut Beach, Prachuapkirikhan

We are invited to my husbands%26#39; niece%26#39;s wedding in Thailand in early January 09. We are trying to decide if we should go or not. The wedding is in BanKrut Beach, Prachuapkirikhan ( which I think is the name of the area???).. Do you know the area? Is it nice? Any recommendation for where to stay?

Also, if we would want make a 2 weeks vacation. What itenerary would you recommend. We like nature, beaches and luxury resorts where we can get pampered for not very high prices.

Your tips would be greatly appreciated :-)

Thanks!

Ban Krut is a lovely little place just south (25 km) of Prachuap Khiri Khan. It%26#39;s a quiet place with a spaterring of small resort type bungalow places. there are no luxury hotels/resorts here. this place caters for mainly Thais and those seeking peace nad quiet.

a nice place to stay here is Baan Klan Gaow resort. they have a mix of 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom bungalows. This would be a good place to stay for attending the wedding.

As for the rest of your 2 weeks i suggest Hua hin which is 100km north of PKK and/or 188 km south of Bangkok. here you will find all sorts of accommodation, including 5* such as Hyatts, sheratons etc.

alternately you can base all your time in HH and drive down to Ban Krut (90 mins) if you think the Baan Klan Gaow is too quiet for you.

2 excellent websites with prices and reviews of hotels/resorts are for all the above are

www.asiarooms.com

www.sawadee.com

unfortunately January here is peak season and as such you will pay peak season prices for accommodation, but getting pampered is reasonable if done outside of your hotel.

Very quiet but very nice area of the coastline.

You have Baan Klangaow and Banito at Bang Saphan also the Coral Hotel which has cottages and suites, also good Thai and French food.

You could stay local just over the wedding then stay around Hua hin, Hyatt Regency, Sofitel, Hilton, Dusit, and many others, south of Hua hin in Pranburi you have the Evasons and some other nice boutique resorts.

who looking for resort locate on BanKrut Beach Try look at Keeree Waree Seaside Villa there are Friendly staff and with the surrounding beach just munites to railway station ...
